2025 IMPACT REPORT
The Sacramento K-16 Collaborative is setting a new standard for education-to-career pathways by leveraging investment, momentum, and partnership to drive impact across the Capital Region and the state. We have built a strong, proven model that grows talent, fuels industries, and expands opportunity for every student.
Since 2022, we’ve directed the majority of our funding to partner institutions and community-based organizations, ensuring that resources stay in the region and support those closest to the work.
By building the workforce that our region depends on, the Collaborative fuels statewide economic growth.
OUR REGION
The Collaborative has broken down silos and fostered a level of multi-institutional collaboration never seen before. Our impact area includes eight counties that make up the Capital Region:
OUR PARTNERS
The Sacramento K-16 Collaborative is proud to work alongside more than 40 partners—including K–12 districts, community colleges, universities, employers, and regional organizations like We Prosper Together—to align priorities, share data, and invest in scalable solutions. Through this collective strength, institutions are working side by side rather than competing, expanding access and opportunity for students across the region. Together, partners have played an integral role in designing a more connected, inclusive, and resilient education-to-career pipeline for the Capital Region.
OUR FOCUS AREAS
-
We’re connecting student-level data across institutions to paint a clearer picture of student progress and workforce outcomes. By sharing insights across systems, we’re empowering educators, employers, and policymakers to make smarter, faster decisions that drive regional prosperity.
-
We’re expanding high-impact pathways in healthcare, biotech, engineering, manufacturing, and computing industries to shape California’s future. By linking classroom learning to real-world experience, we’re helping students build the skills and confidence to thrive in the jobs of tomorrow.
-
We’re creating pathways between high school and college so students can earn college credit earlier, save money, and step confidently into higher education. Together, we’re making advanced learning more accessible, seamless, and attainable for all.
-
We’re designing a system that works for every student, especially those historically left out of opportunity. From students of color and first-generation learners to rural and adult students, we’re building pathways that open doors, close gaps, and strengthen our communities.
-
We’re making the journey from community college to university smoother, faster, and more aligned with in-demand careers. By simplifying transitions between institutions, we’re ensuring that talent stays on track and our region’s workforce keeps moving forward.
OUR IMPACT
To date, $13.6M (75%) of our total grant funding has gone directly to partners and workgroup initiatives. This approach recognizes that local leaders are best positioned to identify gaps and design solutions that meet the needs of their students and communities.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT:
Sacramento’s first high school-based Certified Nursing Assistant program, serving underrepresented students through dual enrollment and work-based learning. The strength of this model was showcased during the recent Capital Caucus site-visit to Health Professions High School, where leaders saw firsthand how students are gaining real training and career exposure.
“For me, dual enrollment has been more than a program— it has been a bridge. A bridge between dreams and access, between high school and higher education, and a bridge between who I am and who I’m becoming. As a first-generation immigrant student, I once thought college was far beyond my reach. But through dual enrollment, I learned that belonging in a college environment isn’t something you wait for—it’s something you build through opportunity, curiosity, and persistence.”
